My dear brothers and sisters,

Today, we have gathered with great joy to celebrate the wedding of N. and N.

The Bible readings we listen to speak to us of the most beautiful and essential truth of human life: love.

But this is no ordinary love. This is true love, originating from God and exemplified by Jesus Christ.

The words we hear in Saint Paul's letter to the Corinthians serve as a guide for married life:

Love is patient, love is compassionate; it is not jealous, boastful, or self-serving.

These words are not merely sweet phrases for the wedding day; they are a life plan that the couple is invited to live every day .

In today's world, love is often seen as an emotion; it's thought that love ends when emotions change. However, in the Christian understanding, love is much more than that.

Love is a decision; it's choosing again every day. It's remaining faithful in the face of difficulties. It's seeking your partner's well-being, not your own.

In today's Bible, Jesus says:

I love you the same way my father loved me. Stay in my love.

And then he adds the following words:

There is no greater love than giving one's life for one's friends.

This is the foundation of a Christian marriage. True love is not just about receiving, but about giving. Jesus loved us to the end and sacrificed himself for us on the cross.

The love between spouses is also called upon to be a reflection of this love: a selfless, loyal, enduring, and unconditional love.

Dear N. and N., the promise you made to each other today is not just for happy days. It is a promise to be there for each other during life's difficult times as well.

Marriage doesn't mean there will be no problems; it means continuing to walk together through the face of problems.

One of the most important elements on this path is prayer. Constantly praying and staying connected with God. We say, "A family that prays together, stays together . "

God should always be the foundation of your marriage and family. This is the only foundation that can never be destroyed.

Another very important element is dialogue. A strong family is built on open and sincere communication.

Don't neglect listening to each other, understanding each other, and sharing your hearts. Many marriages suffer not from a lack of love, but from a lack of communication.

Make time for each other amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life. Talk to each other, share your joys and sorrows.

People who engage in dialogue build bridges; those who stop talking unknowingly build walls.

Another virtue essential in marriage is patience.

This is what Saint Paul first said: “Love is patient.” Patience is the ability to accept others as they are. Nobody is perfect.

True love isn't about finding a perfect person, but about learning to love them with their flaws.

And of course, forgiveness… No marriage can last long without forgiveness. Because we are human, we make mistakes, we hurt others, and sometimes we get hurt.

Therefore, two of the most important words couples need to learn are "I'm sorry" and "I forgive you . "

Resentment divides; forgiveness unites. Pride wounds; compassion heals.

Today's celebration also reminds us of the importance of family in society.

The family is where children first learn love, respect, sharing, and solidarity. They learn their first values within the family. Strong families create strong societies.

Therefore, today we are not only celebrating the happiness of two people. We are also celebrating the establishment of a family, which is of great value to the Church and to society.

Every family built on love , loyalty , and faith is a beacon of hope for the world.

Today, there is another blessing that makes this celebration even more special. Stella is not only receiving the Sacrament of Marriage today; she will also receive our Lord Jesus Christ in Holy Communion for the first time.

This is no coincidence. Because the true foundation of married life is God. A home is built on love; but this love remains strong only when it draws its strength from the love of God.

Today, Stella receives Jesus into her heart for the first time in the Eucharist.

Jesus also tells us this in the Gospel:

Stay in my love.

Holy Communion is one of the most beautiful ways to remain in the love of Christ. For in the Eucharist, the Lord not only gives us a teaching; He gives Himself to us.

Through Communion and the Eucharist, you will be able to enter the Heart of Jesus.

Dear N. and N., the most important thing Jesus said to you today is: “Stay in my love.”

Keep God at the center of your marriage. Pray together.

Trust in God at every stage of your life. Because love for humanity becomes stronger, deeper, and more lasting when nourished by the love of God.

May the Lord bless you; May your home be filled with love , patience , dialogue , and forgiveness .

Our congregation will always pray for you.

May the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph, and the Holy Family always protect and guide you.
