Sermon – “Take My Yoke upon You and Learn from Me. Thus You Will Find Rest for Your Souls.” (Matthew 11:29) – July 5, 2026

“Take my yoke upon you.” Adopt my teaching as your rule of life.
“Learn from me.” IMITATE ME; strive to become other Christs.
The only way to attain union with God is to imitate Christ.
“I am the way.” “I am gentle and humble of heart.”
“Gentle”: This refers to someone who controls himself and does not follow his passions. As Saint Augustine says, it is someone who overcomes evil actions with good ones.
“Humble”: A person who walks in the path of truth; one who acknowledges, before God, that he is nothing, and before others, that everything he possesses has been given to him by God.
“You will find rest for your souls,” says the Lord. Only the holy person is truly happy!
What greater rest could there be than living like Christ and, as a result, obtaining Christ’s reward: resurrection and immortal life?
Only the one who follows the example of Christ is happy…
The saints have proven this.
