In the Bible, the Lord teaches us to put the salvation of our soul above all else .
The most important thing is to go to heaven.
That is why he tells us three times not to fear people; because they can only kill the body, they can do nothing else.
But to avoid fear, one needs to trust something or someone.
Some will rely on their own strength. In this case, they will not remain faithful to God, because: “Salvation, glory, and power belong to our God ” (Revelation 19:1). And at the moment of death, they will deny Christ.
Because: “A life for a life! A man shall lay down all his life for his own soul” (Job 2:4). Without God’s power, it is impossible to not fear people, let alone give one’s life for Christ .
Our trust must rest on God’s goodness and the words of Jesus. On God’s goodness: Let us remember that the Father sent His Son to save us. It is clear that God loves us, therefore let us trust in Him. We must trust in the words of Christ:
So don't be afraid, there's no comparison between you and sparrows.
Let us trust in His words, which are the very truth; let us know that the truth never lies.
We must trust in God and the words of Jesus. We must also pray. Through prayer, we receive strength from God to withstand temptations, hardships, and fear.
Let us recall the striking words of two very important saints. Saint Alfonso Maria de Liguori said:
Those who pray will be saved, those who do not pray will perish.
Because God grants us his favor if we ask him. And Saint Pio de Pietrelcina:
Those who pray often will be saved. Those who pray little are in danger, and those who do not pray are lost.
Let us ask the Blessed Virgin Mary for the grace to place the salvation of our souls at the forefront of our lives.
